After leaving the cardroom, I rushed to my room, grabbed paper and pencil and jotted down the rules of play for this unusual Draw Poker variation. The Low Poker game that I witnessed played that night back in 1935 is still popular in Southern states and is now called Lowball Deuce to Seven. By 1945 this Lowball Draw Poker variation introduced a new family of countless Low Poker, Lowball, and High-Low variations of both Draw and Stud Poker. Today, we have four different kinds of Low Draw Poker games being played throughout the world, and they are: 1. Lowball Deuce to Seven; 2. Lowball Ace to Six; 3. California Lowball Ace to Five; and 4. Five Card High-Low Draw Poker.
