Table talk at these once-a-week games is as much a part of Poker as the card playing and money wagered; yet there are times when the talk around the table can be boisterous and annoying, especially when a big money pot is at stake.

Coffeehousing is the practice of trying to confuse and mislead the opponents through excessive talk and expressions concerning the round of play. Although coffee-housing may at times serve as a relief from tension, it also can be used to try to befuddle opponents and gain a psychological advantage over other players.
