He shuns such games as Draw Poker, Lowball, Seven Card Stud or any other Poker variations wherein wild cards are used. Five Card Stud Poker permits a player to use much more strategy than any of the variations. For example, in a $2-limit game, the dealer edges 25 cents. The reason is that the gambler likes to have some information to guide him before betting. Gamblers don't like to put money into the pot without seeing at least part of their hand; therefore the first two cards dealt in Stud (the hole card and the first upcard) are the cards that are valued by the gambler and determine the betting.
