Memory also serves in Stud. Several players may, for instance, turn down their hands after the third-card draw, and those cards may include three kings. If you draw a king for your fourth card in a no-pair hand, and the king is your high card and another player has queens, you might—if you don't remember that three kings are dead—gamble on drawing a king because the pot is big. You gamble on an impossibility. Observation plus memory will save you money.
