My latest scouting survey of more than one hundred legal and illegal Poker rooms or clubs situated in Nevada, California, New York, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta and New Orleans failed to show two Poker clubs with the same general house rules. Furthermore, I failed to find one Poker room or club whose general house rules could not be vastly improved. Some of the rules were good, others fair, and some bad. So I selected the best of these hundreds of different Poker rules, perfected those that needed improvement, and added a number of rules that I personally developed. A combination of the best of these rules has been incorporated into Scarne's General Rules for Commercialized Poker. Add these to the rules governing the specific game to be played that are covered in detail in the following pages, and the end result is the best set of Poker rules for Poker rooms, clubs and house yet devised.
