When experienced players detect that another player has a big pocket pair, like Aces, they will still often come into the hand because of the large implied odds. Many players, when they have pocket Aces, will get a death grip on them. They find it almost impossible to fold them.

It must be remembered that pocket Aces is only one pair. Usually, it is difficult to get players to commit a large amount of chips to a pot if they do not have more than one pair. For this reason, when Aces win, they will often just win relatively small pots.
