Loose players like to see a lot of cheap flops and will limp in every chance they get. Passive players will tend to check instead of betting or call instead of raising. They don't seam concerned that other players may be drawing on them. This style of poker works best if you are running very lucky.
People are creatures of habit and poker players are no exception. Many players will play a similar type of hand just about the same way, almost every time. By observing these betting pattern, you can get a read on your opponents. Some players will always limp in unless they have a big pocket pair. Some will always check - raise after they flop a huge hand, like a set. Some players give away the strength of their hands by betting small with weak hands and betting big big with strong hands. The bigger the hand, the bigger the bet.
